2019 Gift Guide for Frequent Flyers

There’s still time for some last minute holiday shopping for the traveler in your life (or to share ideas with those who might be getting you a gift). Whether your braving the weather or playing Santa from the couch, my hope is to offer you a curated list of practical, stylish, good value gifts. All of these are things I personally use or have on my own Christmas list. Merry Christmas from @frequentflyerstyles <3

Bundled up and ready to shop.

Travel in Style

  • Global Entry
Becoming a Trusted Traveler is the gift that keeps on giving. For $100, you can give the gift of breezing through airport security on the way out and customs on the way home. Or gift this to yourself; it is without a doubt the best travel accessory I own.
  • Hardback luggage set
For any traveler, stylish and reliable luggage is a perfect gift. Look for a reputable company with a good warranty that will repair or replace if it gets damaged. I love my Away luggage, and they have so many colors to choose from so your loved one’s bag doesn’t get lost in the sea of black on the turnstile. My favorite colors are their Navy, Coast, and Brick, but I am also loving the limited edition Trench (pictured).
  • Passport Case
I recently discovered the brand Cuyana, which focuses on classic, high quality pieces made using ethical processes and materials. The idea is to own fewer things that will last longer. Their leather passport case is gorgeous, with spaces to hold cards, comes in several colors with the option of adding your monogram. Perfect for the chic and conscious traveler in your life.

Under $20

  • Packing cubes
Speaking of luggage, packing cubes are the perfect accessory for luggage and are a practical and low-budget gift perfect for compulsive overpackers like me 🙂 This set from Amazon is under $15 and available in seven colors.
  • Packable tripod
Whether they are a solo traveler or are just wanting photos that aren’t selfies, a tripod is a great alternative to relying on strangers to take photos. About a quarter of the photos on my account were taken with a tripod. This is the one I have, it folds very small so it’s great to pack in luggage or even tuck into a small purse.
  • Travel books
Do you know a city or country that is on your loved one’s list? Gift them inspiration and information with a travel book for that destination. There are several great publishers out there, my personal preference is Lonely Planet, as I find it geared toward a younger, more adventurous traveler and has tips for a range of budgets.

Gift Cards

  • Flytographer
In my opinion, this is the best thing you can give a traveler – the gift of memories. My husband gifted me a photo shoot for our trip to the Amalfi Coast for my birthday a few years ago and I absolutely treasure those photos. This year, I’m paying it forward to my parents as they travel to Europe together for the first time. You can get a gift card or book the shoot directly if you have dates and a destination in mind. Use CODE1437 to receive $25 off your first photo shoot.
  • Airbnb
We always try to stay in AirBnbs when we can rather than hotels because to me it is an entirely different experience to be part of a neighborhood, even for a short time, and you get to know the city in a different way. You can buy gift cards at most major retailers (Kroger, Target, Amazon, etc.) The value never expires, so your loved one can take their time to plan their next trip.

Stocking Stuffers

  • Luggage scale
For those who sometimes toe the line of the 50 lb limit. A luggage scale means no surprises when you go to check your bag.
  • Airplane cocktail kit
I always order bloody mary mix on planes and I definitely attribute it to Meg Ryan’s character in When Harry Met Sally. This cute kit allows for some tray table mixology for that friend who can’t wait to land for the party to start.
  • Baggage Claim Rose Gold Eye Masks
For the traveler who likes to land looking fresh, these pretty eye masks were designed with travel in mind and help with puffiness and dark circles.
